Mark Provost didn’t build Saltbush and Clay in a boardroom; he built it where the pavement ends.

Currently based in the Tanami Desert, Northern Territory, Mark works directly within Australia’s most remote Aboriginal communities. His journey began in 2004, launching the nation’s first exclusive Aboriginal resort—a landmark venture recognised by The New York Times, TIME, and the UN for its transformative impact.

Mark later scaled this radical, micro-resort model across the South Pacific, proving that luxury can—and should—prioritise the land and its people.

The soul of Saltbush and Clay was forged through a years-long mentorship with the last known traditional medicine man of the Simpson Desert. Through this friendship, Mark learned the secrets of native halophytes: resilient botanical powerhouses that thrive in the world’s harshest extremes.

Saltbush and Clay is the result: High-end skincare rooted in radical transparency, deep cultural respect, and the raw harshness, remoteness, and beauty of Central and Northern Australia.
