Yet it is the plant in our name, and it has a considered place in the 13°S Cellular Serum. This is the story of a quiet botanical and why it matters to us.
A plant that holds its ground
Saltbush grows across inland Australia, often in country where little else will: dry plains, salty soils and the edges of clay pans. It is a plant shaped by heat, wind and long stretches without rain.
Its silvery-grey leaves are part of that resilience. Many saltbush species carry tiny salt-storing cells on the leaf surface, which give the foliage its pale shimmer and help the plant cope with harsh, exposed conditions.
It is not a showy plant. Its strength is in endurance.
Where the name began
Years ago, Mark travelled into the Simpson Desert with a close friend, an elder he knew as the region’s last known traditional medicine man. Among saltbush-fringed clay pans, he saw a landscape that looked sparse at first glance and proved to be full of life.

Saltbush has long been part of the lives and knowledge of First Nations peoples on the Country where it grows. We recognise that history, and we see our role as learning from it with respect, not claiming it.
Its place in the formula
